Almond milk

ENGLISH:
Homemade almond milk is a healthy, nutritious, and delicious plant-based alternative, ideal for those seeking a lactose-free and 100% natural option. Rich in fiber, vitamins, and healthy fats, this beverage is perfect for breakfasts, smoothies, or baking recipes.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of raw almonds (can be with or without skin, according to preference)
3 or 4 cups of filtered water
Natural sweetener to taste (honey, dates, or stevia)
Vanilla or cinnamon essence (optional, for flavoring)
STEP-BY-STEP PREPARATION:

  1. Soaking the almonds: place the almonds in a container and cover them with water. Let them soak for 8 to 10 hours (or overnight).
  2. Rinsing: the next morning, remove the soaking water and rinse the almonds with clean water.
  3. Blending: add the almonds to the blender along with 3 or 4 cups of clean water. Blend until you obtain a homogeneous and creamy mixture.
  4. Straining: strain the mixture using a very fine strainer, cheesecloth, or a bag for plant-based milks, pressing well to extract all the liquid.
  5. Flavor: if desired, add a pinch of cinnamon or a few drops of vanilla to enhance the flavor.
  6. Storage: keep the almond milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Its maximum duration is 3 days.

Extra tip: don’t throw away the leftover pulp, you can use it to make cookies, sponge cakes, or add it to smoothies and yogurts.
